Dr. Michael Rowe
Dr Michael Rowe is an Interventional Cardiologist with a special interest in coronary angiography, balloon angioplasty and coronary stenting.
His clinical interests are evaluation of chest pain, diagnosis and management of ischaemia and valvular heart disease.
Michael obtained his medical degree with honours from the University of Melbourne in 1980. He trained in cardiology at St Vincent’s Hospital in Melbourne and then spent two years as an Interventional Cardiology Fellow in California working with Dr John Simpson, a world renowned pioneer and leader in the field of coronary angioplasty.
Michael admits private patients and performs procedures at Knox Hospital, Epworth Richmond and Epworth Eastern Hospitals.
In addition, he holds public hospital appointments as a Cardiologist at St Vincent’s, Box Hill, Maroondah and the Angliss Hospitals.
He has been involved in the training of cardiologists in both the Public and Private systems, is a co-author of many journal articles and uses his extensive clinical and technical experience to contribute to the continuing development of interventional cardiology.
Michael has been on the faculty and given lectures at many interventional cardiology meetings in Australia and overseas. In addition, he has been involved in training interventional cardiologists overseas and has performed interventional cardiac procedures in Canada, China and India.
